The Murrysville Parks and Recreation Commission are working towards establishing stewardship plans for each of the Murrysville park properties, which will aid in outlining the future maintenance and development of these properties. Much of this work will be completed by dedicated community volunteers and couldn’t be completed without the time, talent, and expertise contributed by Ben Sampson and :
Completed in 2017, the Staymates cabin and property stewardship plan defines the relationship between the Murrysville Historical and Preservation Society and Murrysville Public Works.
The Historical Society’s intention is to utilize, promote and maintain the cabin while Murrysville Public Works shall work to maintain the property.

Completed in July of 2019, the plan outlines the history of Sardis Park and how it came to be a municipally owned park. Most importantly, it details the future of the park and ongoing development and maintenance plans.

Finalized in 2019, Townsend Park’s plan also provides park history but provides sustainability recommendations for the vast woodland areas that encompass the park property.

Completed in June of 2020, Duff Park’s plan has certainly been the most extensive plan to date, with a vast amount of documentation to research and edit, and numerous volunteers to participate. Duff Park continues to be a gem in the Murrysville Park System, thanks to so many dedicated volunteers.
